Hi everyone!
This entry is a repost for an entry I did last year for Rumah Solehah. I want to share it here again so that no-one will forget about these special kids

Hi everyone!
Yesterday, the 22nd of January i was blessed enough to be able to spend a day with the kids at Rumah Solehah in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras. Rumah Solehah is a shelter for women and children (though primarily children) infected with HIV. The trip was organized by Noraini and her International Islamic University friends, along with Noraini's sister Mariam.
Those kids are great and their will to have fun despite sometimes feeling very sick is something we adults should learn from. They immediately run to you when you enter the premises and they hug and tug and just want to get to know you. They know you are there for them and in a way i think that's their way of saying thank you...whoever you are.
To all the kids of Rumah Solehah (especially little Muhasannah who told me to come back soon), i'll be back to visit you guys and girls again i promise!!
I pray that Allah give them good health and happiness. An though i felt sad on that day when seeing them play knowing they may not have too much time on this earth, I remember now that if they pass away without reaching adulthood, we shouldn't be sad for they have been given free tickets to Heaven. There they will have all the joy they need and no sickness will be known to them. Alhamdulillah (All Praise to God)

A brotha i met on my birthday
|
|
Today was my birthday! And I spent it with my lovely fiancee, Mariam. Thanks to her we had super duper sedap Mushroom Jack Fajitas topped with Chocolate Malton Cake. Thank you!!!!
On the way to 1 Utama, Mariam spotted this fella in some of the bushes kat tepi the jalan. So, after asking for permission from this brotha if i could snap his photo, he said 'No problem man, but just a quick one ey, I need to be at IKEA soon to promote their new 'Lizard Skin' effect sofa collection"
So here is that photo i took. And last I heard of him, he was off to Sweden, all paid for by IKEA.
It pays to be a lizard.

Regarding the Danish cartoons

Salam my muslim brothers & sisters,
Some naseehah from me regarding the issue of the Danish cartoons. In our valid dissapointment that freedom of speech has not been coupled with respect & responsibility by those who made these drawings, let us not forget the proper manner in which the Prophet himself handled physical and verbal abuse towards him.
Remember the lady who used to put rubbish on him while he was praying. He didn't get mad at her but when he found out she wasnt well he went to visit her & wished her well. He changed her attitude towards him by doing good to her. Remember when he was stoned by the children at Ta'if, he didn't go and burn their houses when the Muslims became a majority in later years.
Also he never got angry at the ordinary Makkan when he was persecuted there by the leaders of Makkah. Similarly we should not get angry at ordinary Danes/Swedes/French etc who did not draw the cartoons in the first place.
When becoming angry, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) control of anger on the martyrdom of his beloved Uncle Hamza whose body was cut & his liver was eaten by the opposing side. When some of the disbelievers would greet him with the greeeting 'Death be upon you', he didnt get angry but merely replied 'Same to you' in a calm manner.
We protect the Prophet in the same manner he protected himself and the early Muslims from abuse. Not with blind anger but with Hikmah, Wisdom.

I'm glad to bring to you the coverage Adam's & Izmira's wedding reception held at Hotel Singgahsana, PJ. Some background info on these two lovebirds shall we? They have known each other since they were in form 3! And now, they've finally come to what is their destiny....to be husband and wife!
The event was lovely with Adam & Izmira looking very radiant The food was goood.. and.. I found out that they plan to have 11 kids! That's a grand vision you two have there Adam & Mira!
I wasn't the official photographer for the event, but probably you could call me the 'kawan' photographer heheh
To Adam & Izmira, may you be blessed with happiness and cherish these moments for many years to come!

Fire in the Sky

For the first time in a longggg time I decided to view the new year fireworks and in the process snap a few shots of the bamm! bamm! in the sky. I'm not much of a celebrator of the new year, but i couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture these moments.
This was my first time capturing a fireworks display...and i'm pretty pleased with the results. Nothing mind blowing but at least the main feature, the fireworks themselves came out nice n sharp.
So that gives me 1 year to prepare for the next big ones
To all my clients & friends, may 2006 be a better year for you than 2005 was.

Happy 1st Anniversary Mike & Ivy!

A year ago, on the 26th of December 2004, I was blessed to have been a witness to the beautiful wedding of Mike & Ivy at Port Dickson.
Many will remember that date for the tragedy of the tsunami...however, on that day many beautiful things happened as well, and one of them was this joining of two souls. For every tragedy there is also a ray of light, in fact the good that happens on a daily basis is double that of any bad that happens...we only need to open our eyes to such things that we take for granted such as the air we breath, the friends we have, the food we have and all the other blessings available to us.

Reza & Niza - Reception @ TTDI
|
|
On the 9th of December, at the Community Hall, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, I captured this wonderful wedding reception for Reza & Niza.
I was invited to capture this event by Reza's mom, Pn. Zainab Abdullah from MAS. It turns out that Reza also works for MAS (Malaysia Airlines) and is a Pilot..soon to be Captain I guess! I must say the whole family @ Shakur clan is a fun family to say the least! Laughter and jokes everywhere!
To Reza & Niza, congratulations and to the whole Shakur family thanks for the great moments for me to capture on film!
