Hi everyone!
On the 29th of January 2005, the Women's Wing of IIS (Islamic Information & Services Foundation) organised an event at IIS Setiawangsa. The event was a Muslim-Christian interfaith talk & discussion that featured a guest speaker from St. Xavier's Church, PJ. The topic was "Introduction to the Bible".
The Objectives of the talk were:
1. Maintain genuine ongoing interfaith dialogue and ties.
2. To raise what Muslims consider to be discrepancies and contradictions in the Bible.
3. To give the Christians an opportunity to clarify points regarding the history and compilation of the Bible and hence establish and maintain relevant dialogue on the topic at hand.
4. An exchange programme between IIS and Christian churches/organisations on promoting each others' faith.
The response to the talk was good as can be seen in the photos. I must thank my Mom & Bro for coming to the talk, and Sis. Lana, the Women's Wing Coordinator was happy to see my Mom too after so long. Thanks also to Aidil for helping to be the cameraman for the event. And of course to all the participants for making the event a success.
Have a visit to IIS's website here : http://www.iis.org.my

Short break ;)
|
|
Hello everyone!
As with everything we do in life there are times when we need to take a short break from something so that we can focus on the other things we may have missed out on. I'm taking a short break from fotopaging until early february so that i can just focus on shooting photos and have some nights with sleep heheheh
Till my next entry of wedding photos and other random photos take care all of ya and happy photography too!

HP Towers

Hi everyone!
Here are 4 photos i submitted for the "HP Through My Eyes" Digital Photo contest. I entered it for fun as well as to spend more time with nature/architectural/abstract photography alongside all the wedding and event photography i've been doing.
The second image was a finalist for Week 3 which i put under my brother's name just in case more than 1 got into the finals. Altogether there were a total of 40 finalists vying for the top 3 spots if i'm not mistaken, from the 4 weeks the contest was held.
Personally, my favourite is the last image
Well now that the results are out, i must say congrats to the winners and i'll try again next time!!!

Michael & Ivy's Wedding - Port Dickson - Scene 1
|
|
Hi everyone!
This entry features the wedding of Michael and Ivy at the Regency Hotel, Port Dickson on Sunday, 26th December 2004.
It was a truly beautiful wedding with a beautiful couple no less. The setting was lovely and the alcove was set under a big tree with lights hung up in the branches which gave it a magical touch as the sun set and the lights were lit.
The couple, Michael and Ivy work at 8tv and are a very very fun couple to photograph. Always relaxed and always smiling...especially Ivy with that big smile she always has on.
Although I'm not a Christian, as a believing Muslim I loved the fact that Michael and Ivy's was one of faith. They are devout Christians and it showed through the way the wedding was held. Faith songs were sang, many prayers were said and most importantly there was plenty of reminders that marriage needs faith in God to be truly successful.
Michael and Ivy, I wish both of you the very best in your marriage and may God bless both of you with happiness and joy (and many children too )
Daniel Zain
Thank you lots to Adam and Aby for the invitations of which these photos wouldn't be here if it weren't for you guys!

The True Cost of Wedding Photography
|
|
Taken from Saiful Nang http://saifulnang.fotopages.com
POINT TO PONDER
Typical Malay Wedding Budget Allocation
1. Wedding Dress RM 3,500 (Cheap)
2. Make-up Artist RM 500 / make-up (Cheap)
3. Flower decoration RM 4,000 (Cheap)
4. Budget reception RM 15,000 (Cheap)
5. Guest souvenir RM 3,000 (Cheap)
6. Photographer to record all above and preserve it even when you die RM 2,000 (VERYYY EXPENSIVEEE)
Think about that!
- - - - - -
As an associate of Saiful Nang, I agree with his observation. Couples need to realize how important wedding photos are as it is the only way anyone will be able to see your special day over and over again for generations to come. As such, the cost of wedding photography is actually the cheapest of all the expenditure on a typical wedding as it lasts the longest and can be enjoyed by more.
Sincerely,
Daniel Zain Ibrahim

Mariam's fun gathering :)
|
|
This was a small gathering that was held at Mariam's house with most of her Malaysian Airlines workmates there and a few of her mmu friends thrown in as well.
Mariam did all of the cooking and i don't know how she cooks the way she does... yummy yummy yummy. I can imagine now how she wanted to kee the event small and sweet, if she had to cook for more people she would need help im sure with the cooking. Thats women for you...multitasking!!
The place was made alive with the loud and funny conversations between the ladies there while Aidil and Chaki provided the music... well...sort of. Mariam got to meet Iyman and Nozima again, an Uzbek who is teaching at Taylors College.
All in all a wonderful time, and please lets have more of these things again ya! Thanks Mariam for your hospitality, great food and wackiness!!
Daniel Zain.
